Saints pushed hard

ST SAVIOUR, one of the tournament favourites, struggled through to the quarter-final of the Trinity Shield last night after a 2-1 victory, after extra time, against Trinity at Les Quennevais, writes Andy Bradshaw.

Minnows Trinity took the 2007 tournament winners all the way before eventually succumbing to a penalty kick in the first period of extra time. Trinity also had a penalty kick saved by goalkeeper Max Jouan when there was no score, but soon afterwards they did take the lead through 16-year-old Aaron Young.
