Both will move up from their current positions as assistant managers to replace the soon-to-retire Jon Welsh and Mo Matthews, respectively.

JFA president Charlie Tostevin said: ‘Dave and Kevin have been involved for a number of years now with the respective teams and we are delighted they applied for the positions.

It will give us the continuity we are looking for and we wish them both well.’ The pair were chosen from a number of applications and Tostevin thanked everyone for their interest in the positions.

Walsh takes over on 14 May following the U18s’ tour to England for matches against Bournemouth and Southampton academies.

He has been head coach of the U18s for six years and he will continue to coach at the Lloyds TSB Centre of Excellence, a position he has held for seven seasons.

Miller takes over on 1 May, after the Ladies’ Muratti.

His first game will be against the RAF ladies at Springfield on Sunday, 8 May.

The 29-year-old has been involved with the Island ladies squad for eight years, the last three as assistant manager.

Miller has named his back-up team: Current goalkeeping coach Chris Jéhan will be assistant manager, Geoff Van Der Vliet takes over as goalkeeping coach with Tim Sauvage coming aboard for the first time.

Walsh could not be contacted today.
