MORE than 10,000 people lined Victoria Avenue on Thursday afternoon for the Battle of Flowers parade.
Spectators at this year’s carnival – which is the Island’s biggest tourism event of the summer – enjoyed blue skies, and, despite some windy conditions, many claimed it was the best parade they had seen in a number of years.
The top prize, The Prix d'Honneur, went to The Optimists Club for Ghost Ship, which the team began working on on Boxing Day and which features approximately 175,000 flowers.
The Moonlight Parade takes place on Victoria Avenue on Friday night from 9 pm and a special Moonlight souvenir supplement will be inside Monday's JEP.
