GALLERY: Islanders run, swim and paddle to raise funds

DOZENS of Islanders put their stamina to the test in warm conditions as they paddled, ran and swam around Jersey to raise money for the Grace Crocker Foundation over the weekend.

The Jersey Round Island Challenge saw teams and individuals complete circuits of the Island either by running, kayak, stand-up paddleboard (SUP), swimming or rowing on Saturday.

More than £16,000 was raised in sponsorship for the Grace Crocker Foundation, which supports families whose children need medical treatment in the UK.

Organiser Nigel Crocker said that all competitors were awarded life membership of the foundation, which was founded in 2011 after 11-week-old Grace Crocker, his daughter, died from a rare heart condition.

Absolutely awesome event, looking forward to next year. What other event can you race people swimming, paddling, kayaking, canoeing and running around the island? Fantastic planning by the organisers, and a great cause as well. Cheers to all involved.

They run, swim and paddle because with Flymaybe and Condom ferries its the only way to travel.
