GALLERY: CRY Jersey Western Walkathon

Walkers, who had to put up with damp and drizzly conditions, could choose between three separate distances of either 21 miles, 13 miles or six miles starting from West Park.

The longest walk, which started at 8.30 am, followed a route through Waterworks Valley, St Mary, then across St Ouen’s Bay to Corbière and back via the Railway Walk. The 13-mile walk started at 11 am and took participants to Corbière and back, and the six-mile walk, which started start at 2 pm, was to St Aubin and back again.

Money raised from the event will go towards refugee centres in Athens, Greece and and Bethel children’s home in Tanzania in East Africa which are supported by the Christian charity CRY – Care and Relief for the Young.
