GALLERY: St George’s School fete is Miss Battle’s first date

Chantelle Mundy arrived in an open-top car from Jacksons Garage to open the event at La Hague Manor, in St Peter, on Saturday afternoon.

‘It was lovely to see so many people having a good time and it was nice to see how much support the school got from both parents and businesses,’ said 19-year-old Chantelle.

‘There were various entertainers. Royston South was very good, the kids loved him.

‘I judged the art competition and the winning piece will be put on the school’s 85th anniversary cake.

‘They also had the school choir there who sang lots of songs.’

Dozens of people attended and were able to enjoy entertainment throughout the afternoon.

The children enjoyed rides on a vintage carousel, as well as a helter-skelter.

‘The entertainment was really good and I was honoured to have been asked to open the fete,’ said Chantelle.

‘It was a fantastic event and I am looking forward to the next one.’
