GALLERY: Pallot Steam Fayre puts on early Liberation Day show

The event, held by the Pallot Steam Motor and General Museum, involved a display of tractors, classic cars, military vehicles and steam train rides and has been taking place for more than 30 years. Children and adults enjoyed a ride on the steam train, as well as learning about the history of the Liberation of Jersey.

Sam Pallot, organiser and trustee of the museum, said: ‘The day was well attended and well received.

‘There were a lot of happy children and adults.

‘It is important for children to find out about the history of the Liberation.

‘It is highly educational because there are things that they will not know about and things that they would not see today.’

Mr Pallot added that they decided to hold the event on Monday because there was so much going on already on 9 May.

‘I would like to thank all the volunteers, workers and everyone who helped on the day,’ he said.
