Every voucher collected by your school in this year’s Cash4Schools programme will be exchanged for cash following a revamp of our highly-popular school-funding promotion.
Unlike previous years, where cash prizes were given to those schools that collected the most tokens, the format has been altered so that the £10,000 cash prize fund will be divided by the total number of tokens submitted.
This means there will no longer be any losers. Every school that takes part, no matter how many tokens they collect, will receive a share of the cash.
Therefore, if 10,000 tokens are submitted by all of the schools in Jersey at the end of the campaign, each token collected will be exchanged for £1. If 100,000 tokens are submitted, each token will be exchanged for 10p and so on.
The money can be spent on anything that will benefit your school, from improving an area of the school or buying new play equipment to funding the purchase of new books, sports equipment or computers.
To simplify the scheme, which is sponsored by the One Foundation in partnership with the Jersey Evening Post, there will no longer be any weekly spot prizes, or golden or bonus tickets and it will now run over two weeks rather than four from Monday 3 October to Saturday 15 October 2016.
Participating schools will be given collection boxes into which pupils can post their tokens. These will be sent to all schools in the coming days of the start of the promotion. If you have any queries about the promotion, please contact 611748, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The One Foundation Award
There will still be, however, a one-off £5,000 special grant up for grabs from the One Foundation. All participating schools have the opportunity to apply for the One Foundation Award and the winner will be chosen by an independent board of judges. No tokens have to be collected to be considered for this award but the project must take place within the next 12 months. You simply have to complete the form provided in your information pack your school received and return it to the One Foundation by Friday 14 October 2016. This project can be different to how you would allocate funds from the token collection scheme and must see your school interacting with the wider community. Examples of previous winners are - purchasing cooking equipment to enable the school to provide homemade meals and snacks to members of the community in need, schools purchasing iPads so that pupils can provide training to the silver surfers of the parish and a community library so children within the parish can access an array of books.
To register and confirm that your school would like to take part, please fill in and submit the entry form below
Registration opens on Monday 3 October and must be submitted by Wednesday 12 October 2016.
