Jersey ‘in good place post-Brexit’

Robert Christensen, who is standing down to take on the role of Jurat at the Royal Court, said that despite recent events and reports, in terms of Jersey’s financial services industry, the message was the same.

‘We are in a strong place,’ he said. ‘The constitutional relationship with the UK remains unchanged.’

Speaking at the Jersey Finance annual review held at the Hotel de France on Friday, Mr Christensen said that research carried out last year had shown that the Island was a conduit for nearly £500 billion of foreign investment into the UK and supported 88,000 jobs in the EU economy.
