FIVE people have lost their jobs with immediate effect after camera retailer Jessops announced it was shutting all of its stores.

The chain, which employs almost 1,400 across the UK, went into administration earlier this week.

Its administrators, PricewaterhouseCoopers, made the announcement at around 4 pm yesterday afternoon and Jersey’s store immediately had to shut its doors.

It looks like exempting Channel Islands from LVCR didn't help UK High Street retailers much.

As the job situation worsens daily - we urgently need new hard hitting immigration controls in place NOW. Get rid of all of the States members who are pussy footing around and making excuses. We dont just need strict laws, we need to have the implemented immediately
